Chi Kung Classes

Chi Kung is an ancient Chinese practice of slow, gentle, mindful movements and some static postures to release tension in the body and mind, so that energy – Chi – can flow freely.  When energy flows freely, the body can function the best that it can, so that you feel energized, calm, and alert.  Strength, flexibility, immune function, and balance can all be enhanced through regular practice.

In this one-hour class, we practice a variety of movements and postures, including balance practices, and some gestures from the Yang Family 108-movement Tai Chi long form are incorporated.  It is a standing practice, so please wear comfortable clothing and non-slip shoes; bring water to sip on as well.  No equipment or mats are needed; having a chair available may come in handy for those who would like to practice seated, take a break, or have support for balance practice.
